The Experience
Couples that elope or choose to have an intimate wedding value making meaningful memories with their partner.
A traditional, 300+ person wedding in a banquet hall might not be the dream you had in mind for your wedding. One of the best things about choosing to elope or have an intimate wedding is that you can forget all expectations, opinions, and obligations about what you’re “supposed” to do, and instead focus entirely on what matters most to you two.
It’s an incredible experience, and unlike large, traditional weddings – your day can be completely focused on you. Whether you want to embark on a new adventure or share private moments in your backyard, you need someone you can trust to share that experience with you and to guide you through the process. Every couple and wedding is unique, and I would be honored to be a part of your day.
So, where do you start?
You may see gorgeous images online of elopements all over the world wonder – how is that possible? Where do we even begin to make our day look like that?
There are many things to consider when planning an elopement, and some things to consider as you begin include:
Location (a mountain, the beach, your backyard, a waterfall, a new city)
Guests (just the two of you, close family, or family & friends)
Date & timing (the season for your dream ceremony, and the best time of day so your spot is beautiful and not busy)
Venue (where you might get ready or celebrate with family and friends)
Accessibility (do you want somewhere easy to visit, or do you want to go somewhere remote for your wedding)
Permitting difficulty (reserving a ceremony, guest limit)
Activities to include (hiking, kayaking, cooking, rock climbing, walking on a beach, having a picnic)
The type of ceremony you’d like (vows, Handfasting, ring exchange, unity ceremony, gifts)
If and how you’d like to incorporate family if they’re not physically present
Let’s work together and create a wedding day that’s truly yours.
It can be overwhelming to plan a wedding when you break from the traditional mold that we’re so familiar with. This is where I come in — it’s my goal as your photographer to help make the process of dreaming and planning your unique wedding day as simple and stress-free as possible. I’ll do much more than just show up and take photos – I’m there to help throughout the process!
Together we’ll brainstorm and plan these details so your wedding day goes smoothly and the elopement guide I share with my clients provides a step-by-step framework to follow for planning and includes ideas for every one of those bullet points. Along with those planning resources, I have my experience in photography, hiking/national parks, and world travel to share with you.
