Mountain Elopement in Romania
Adél and Botond are both adventurous spirits living Brasov, Romania where they hike and explore the mountains together. They decided to take their elopement pictures in a place especially important to them – Balea Lake on the famous Transfăgărășan mountain highway. They hike here often in the summer months with their dogs and have many memories together at this special place. In winter, this location completely transforms. To get to the lake, you must take a lift above the clouds. We could not see anything until the very top of the lift, where gusts of wind blew clouds and pockets of sunshine through the valley surrounded by mountains. The conditions changed so quickly we only had a 30 second window for some of these photos!
On our way down the mountain, and after warming up, I noticed this gorgeous curve in the road. We decided to hop out for some photos with champagne and the mood of the forest and the fog was enchanting. A special day with truly unique pictures – wedding images are rare in the mountains in Romania, and we had never seen elopement photos taken here in winter.
